Feeling the love from Apple 馃挌

After taking my MacBook Pro Max in for repairs for the screen, which I dropped it on at Christmas, I ended up getting this receipt which was covered by my AppleCare.

I was assuming it was just going to be a repair on the screen, but they replaced the screen, the lid, the entire metal chassis/enclosure and the battery. Amounting to what would have been 拢1155 but I paid 拢80 on AppleCare which was hella decent. The thing feels like an entirely new MacBook again which is great considering I bought it back in 2022.

I finally feel able enough to clear through the entire house, which I鈥檝e started doing as I鈥檓 going up north to a friends on Monday and have a pet sitter coming in multiple times to check in on the doggo. Will be nice to get out of town for a bit. I almost feel worried about carrying the laptop round with me now considering how new it鈥檚 been restored to, but considering I still have AppleCare and will do going forwards, I鈥檓 thinking I鈥檒l just get a sleeve to throw it in so it鈥檚 less likely to ding on the edges when I鈥檓 carrying it round and getting it in and out of my rucksack.

I鈥檓 up to 300mg a day of tramadol at the moment and having the additional 100mg is helping with spikes and drops. I haven鈥檛 yet got round to trying the SR (slow release) tablets of tramadol my doctor gave me but I鈥檓 thinking I might try them over the weekend to have fewer peaks and drops. I had a doctor previously tell me 350mg is the max tramadol I can take according to my bodyweight, and even though I鈥檝e taken much more than that when I first got on it as I was taking it the same way as tramadol, I won鈥檛 exceed 300mg as I don鈥檛 want the side effects that come with OD鈥檌ng on tramadol. Once was enough, more than enough. I鈥檓 still torn on whether to give myself a short course of diazepam considering my muscles are finally going through some stage of unwinding and the tension releasing, but whenever I do a short course it never ends up being, a short course. I have 10mg tabs, which are 5x stronger than NHS ones. So a tab split in two, taken over the course of the day for 3-5 days might be a good ideal. But I鈥檒l have to make a limit and stick to it.

Came in on the doggo munching on a bunch of snacks he had gotten into whilst I was out for 10 minutes at the shop. I鈥檓 hoping the cakes and chocolate he got into isn鈥檛 going to effect him to badly, but I鈥檓 just keeping a close eye on him as the PDSA wouldn鈥檛 even see him when he was shitting blood and said it would pass. Kinda the same with when it happened to me with the NHS I guess lol, told me to come back when I鈥檝e stopped taking medical cannabis. Is one of the reasons I want to move to somewhere where medical cannabis is more recognized and service workers, both police and healthcare are more trained on it. And I won鈥檛 be discriminated against for being a MC patient. I鈥檝e had a lot of offers on home swapper for different parts of London, but I鈥檓 still sorting through ones from rough areas, or just bad condition properties.

I've found both a trigger point therapy and muscle ultrasound place in bristol that does both for less than 拢200, so when I get paid again in 10 days that what I'm going to do straight away. I know for sure the trigger point therapy will help given what's been helping at home, and the ultrasound to prove the muscle adhesion I've been suffering with would be a piece of proof for me to show people I wasn't bullshitting about the pain and type of pain I'm getting.
